Module positions

Some of you requested us to add module positions to YooRecipe (especially for adsense integration). It is now possible displaying module of any type using YooRecipe proprietary module positions: yoorecipe-after-title, yoorecipe-after-reviews, yoorecipe-before-directions, yoorecipe-after-subcategories

Large upload files

We increased the max upload file size to 7MB in YooRecipe. Well. Please keep in mind that the main limitation now comes from your PHP config.Check your php.ini config file. upload_max_filesize = 8M if you plan using large files uploads.

Reviews vs comments

YooRecipe supports reviews. We therefore updated the code and labels to make a clear distinction between these 2 terms. YooRecipe will integrate with commenting solutions lateron.

We added a pinch of flexibility by adding a new tab in Component Options, to give you more control on the way recipe thumbnails should be generated.

Dear YooRecipe users, I am pleased to announce that version 3.8.2 is out! You are more than encouraged to update as this release fixes several bugs.

New thumbnails options

Options have been added in Component Settings. You can now set the dimensions your categories and recipes will be resized to.

Important. Please set values you want immediately after having updated, it will save some CPU time and avoid weird thumbnails from being generated

Note for large pictures sites owners: Our tip is to set large dimensions in Recipe edition tab. By doing so, YooRecipe will keep large pictures at upload time and will be able to generate nice thumbnails, especially if the thumbnails you want to use are big. Hope I am making sense.

Bugs fixed

• Shopping list button not displayed in navbar if 'use shopping list' param set to off
• Recipe picture correctly displayed in validation email sent to admin
• Fixed PHP warning in search results
• FB Like button used bad formatted URL upon special circumstances
• Important SQL script not run for users who jumped from 3.7.x to 3.8.1, fixes the 'No ingredient' bug

We spent the day solving bugs. Thank you very much to you, active members of forum, who helped us pointing at what was going wrong. YooRecipe users have lots of different configurations and for the first time, we had some hard time finding out what was going wrong, especially for multiple language sites.

Here are the release notes. We put the bugs fixed section first!

Bugs fixed

• Ingredient units and ingredient groups were not correctly generated for languages other than English, under special circumstances
• Recipe creation in backend was not possible due to possible JS form validation bug
• Shopping lists could not be edited when SEF mode on
• Shopping list item could not be checked in/out in print page
• ajax calls url were rewritten in SEF mode and led to javascript errors
• Language problem solved in ingredients groups and units backend screens
• Facebook share button was displayed in French
• Current menu item is kept when posting a review
• HTML error fixed in frontend form

• Recipe frontend submission form: description and preparation fields downsized
• Evolution: Landing page: added option to display recipes or not
• Evolution: Added a View Full Review link in recipe reviews

The whole team and I are proud to announce that YooRecipe 3.8.0 is cooked and ready to use. You can say goodbye to the old recipe page layout some of you have supported for the past 2 years. We decided this page lived enough and needed a brand new design.

Hurrah. Some of you have been waiting more than 2 years for this feature to be available.

The whole team is proud to announce that starting from today, YooRecipe comes with an in-built Meal Planner. Based on HTML5 drag and drop and full AJAX, your users will now be able to select recipes and plan their meals for the week.

Shopping list feature can be used to generate your grocery list once your meals are planned.

Last but not least, we added a recipe suggestion feature based on technical rules. In other words, similar recipes are now displayed at the bottom of your recipes to improve your Users experiences.

We totally redesigned the way ingredients quantities conversion was made. No more estonishing values like 27 8/9 grams of flour or 100.879 ml of water.

This release should also fix the bug encountered by some of our users (fractions not correctly displayed after page load)

We are proud to announce that a new version of RapidRecipes Migration Component is available.

We focused on a new feature that prepares RapidRecipes data to be migrated. As a result, the number of ingredients that must be manually merged is drastically reduced.

On top of that, we added a debug screen that helps you identify potential problems related to RapidRecipes table structure. Indeed, some of our users tried to migrate from a very old version of RapidRecipes, with missing columns.

Documentation has been updated accordingly.

After having sun bathed during two weeks, it was time for us to prepare a sun tanned version of YooRecipe. As usual we cooked it with love and did our best to take into account the numerous suggestions you made on forum.
